Prattville, AL Family Photographer: Incorporating Pets into Your Photos

Hey, hey!

If you are like me, your fur babies are a huge part of your family too! (we may or may not have a mini zoo at our house) They love us unconditionally and bring so much joy to our lives. I love furry friends and I love when families want to include them in their sessions! Here are a few suggestions to help ensure everything goes smoothly:

1. Definitely bring a leash. This will help you keep your pet near to you and where you want him or her for photos. (They aren’t just for dogs, you know.) Be sure to bring a thinner, neutral-colored leash, as they are easier to hide or edit out if necessary.

2. Bring a friend. Having someone come with you specifically to take care of your pet is ideal. This will help so that your pet is not running around all over the place or alone in the car (safety first!), should you wish to take some photos without your fur baby.

3. Treats are a must! Treats are great bribery for your animal. It will help keep your pet still and focused on the camera.

4. Bring your pet's favorite toy. The noisier the better. This is a great reward for being a "good boy" and it doubles as a great tool to help keep your pet’s attention on me. We can also use it to play and get some fun interaction shots.

With just a little prep you can have beautiful photos with your ENTIRE family, including the furry ones!

XOXO,
